Beyond Pet Sitting Inc. is run by Andrea and Matthew Stein. Andrea and Matthew's love for animals brought them together. They met at North Shore Animal League America where Andrea worked as a Kennel Manager for 6 years and Matthew worked as the Head Dog Trainer for 9 years. Their desire to spend more time with their own pets and children led them to form Beyond Pet Sitting Inc.
Matthew started working at the North Shore Animal League America in 1998 and worked his way up to Head Dog Trainer. After completing a course at National K9 he was Certified as a Master Dog Trainer in the year 2000. He has been working full time at N.S.A.L.A. and doing private in-home training since then. He has appeared on Animal Planet, Nick at Nite, and various News Programs. He believes that not every dog can fit imto a singular "method" of training and evaluates each dog and/or situation in order to formulate an effective training approach. After graduating from Seton Hall University with a B.S. in Biology Andrea decided that working with Animals was her true calling. She interned at Alley Pond Environmental Center and worked at the Queens College Center for Environmental Teaching. She worked with various animals including Hawks, Eagles, Owls, Snakes, Turtles, Lizards, and Rabbits. She then started at North Shore Animal League where she quickly worked her way up to Kennel Manager. She worked there for 6 years before leaving to stay at home with her kids and animals.
While working at N.S.A.L.A. Matthew and Andrea often saw people who felt they had no choice but to give up their pets because they had no time for them or could not handle them. It is Beyond Pet Sitting's goal to decrease the amount of animals brought to shelters by providing their time, advice, and training to your animals.
